Full disclosure: White Tank Plumbing is not a client yet. I built this at proposal stage so they could see it instead of just hearing about it.

Spec Build

White Tank Plumbing, Rebuilt From the Ground Up

I found a local plumbing company running on a generic drag-and-drop builder and built them a real site instead, on my own time, before they ever signed on as a client.

The Before

A GoDaddy Website Builder Site

White Tank Plumbing's site, before I touched it, was built on GoDaddy's drag-and-drop Website Builder. It's the kind of site any small business ends up with when there's no time to think about it. Functional, but not built with any real strategy behind it.

What wasn't working, plainly:

  • Duplicated navigation. The same links repeated in more than one place on the page, with no clear path through the site.
  • A generic, templated hero headline ("Trusted Plumbing Solutions") that could belong to any plumbing company anywhere.
  • Real trust signals, licensing, years in business, family ownership, buried instead of leading.
  • GoDaddy's own branding baked into the footer, a visible reminder to every visitor that the site wasn't built for them specifically.
  • A cookie-consent banner that covers most of the screen on mobile before a visitor sees anything else.

Before / After

Same Business, Different Website

After: the site I built

The Strategy

What I Changed, and Why

Visual

Real photography of the truck and the actual work, instead of stock template blocks, with a color and type system that reads like a real company rather than a builder's default theme.

Navigation and structure

One clean nav instead of duplicated links, with a clear path to Services and Misting Systems. Pages that aren't built yet are labeled "coming soon" honestly, instead of a dead link or a missing page.

Mobile

Art-directed images that crop correctly on a phone screen, no cookie modal blocking the page on load, and buttons sized to actually tap.

Trust signals

ROC #337597, 25+ years of hands-on experience, and family ownership are placed high on the page, right in the hero, instead of buried below the fold.

Conversion paths

A call button in the header on every page, a "Get a Free Estimate" CTA in the hero, and a dedicated path into the Misting Systems service instead of one generic contact form at the bottom.

What a Prospect Gets

This Is the Deliverable, Not a Mockup

What's live right now: a Home page, a Services page, and a dedicated Misting Systems page, real copy, real trust signals, built the same way I'd build it for a paying client. Water Treatment and a full About page are marked "coming soon" in the nav rather than faked or left as dead links, because that's an honest picture of where a first build phase actually stands.

This is exactly what a business gets when I take one on: a site built around its real services and trust signals, not a template with a new logo dropped on top.
